A picture explanation of a perfect protective hairstyle for me

I’m a scarf person. No ifs, ands, or buts. (Yes buts). So I adore this style idea to explore my scarf wrap fetish. AND it protects my hair extra from the garbage in the air. AND people TOUCHING it! Ugh…….why do people feel the need to touch????? Sorry, I promise to post a rant post on that subject.

I sometimes, not always, start with pre-washed hair. When I don’t, I use this nifty, awesome tool. THE Q-REDEW!!!!

It does what it advertises and more!!!!! I SERIOULSY encourage you to get one. When you are working with an old twist out etc, you need this to add moisture to your hair in a non-harsh way making it easier to work with reducing the occurrence of breakage which is VERY common when working with old twist outs. It cuts down on the need for too many WASH DAYS. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaate those.

Once I sectioned my hair, Q-Redewing each section, and adding my moisturizer (in my case, just my Shea Butter and olive oil mixture), I start flat twisting in a downward pattern starting from top of my head and working my way down to front and down to back.

I like to end them with a Bantu knot and leave them like that for a few hours to keep the ends curly.

Once I’m done I start wrapping those scarves!!!!!

Sometimes, I let the ends loose.

Try it out sometimes you’ll be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to rock a badu look for a week or two.

What are my next purchases for Jamberry Nails?????

You may or may not know but, Im also a Jamberry consultant. Which is perfect for me since I was a nail technician and I miss it dearly. I fell in love with Jamberry last year when a friend of mine started selling it and got me hook! I started by buying jams for myself and it quickly morphed into me selling it to people I run into in public and friends.  So I decided to sell it and get credit for it. I LOVE it because I’m gaining customers just from a trip to the grocery store. Now I work at an upscale consignment boutique and dear sweet baby Jesus they LOVE this stuff! It take a total of maybe 15 minutes to get done and when its on your nails you’re done, no drying or anything!!!!

Jamberry nail wraps are made from a proprietary, non-toxic, vinyl material that can be applied directly to your nails for a distinctive look not found anywhere else.  Jamberry wraps are NOT a nail polish strip, and each pack includes enough nail wraps for up to TWO manicures, TWO pedicures, and leftovers for accent nails

Jamberry Nails won’t damage your natural nails, non-toxic, formaldehyde-free, latex-free, gluten-free, not tested on animals, requires no dry time, and doesn’t chip.

What are my favorite jams? This one:

Its called POPSTAR. Its comic book related and GOD I LOVE IT. This is a discontinued sheet of wraps. You can’t get it from anywhere but from me!!! I have a few to give away if you want to try it for yourself to even see if Jamberry is for you, WHICH IT IS! Email me at to get your free sample of this wrap.

Martianed Up-cycled Blouse

I had a blouse I bought at Target, then got lost in Pinterest. What’s Pinterest you ask? It’s my kryptonite. I get lost in there if I’m not searching for anything specific. Don’t get lost in there folks, it’s crazy sauce!

This was the idea I saw:

I decided to do something different. This is the shirt I had on hand and the yarn I wanted to use:

I decided I want to cut the back out of this shirt and go from there. BUT NOTE: If you are deciding whether you want to do this or not PLEASE crochet the piece first THEN do your cutting, to make sure the piece is the right size!!!

As noted, the crochet pieces were made first then tacked on to the shirt:

Then the sewing started. Not easy since you have to make sure the sewing doesn’t cause the shirt to bunch. I used my mannequin to accomplish this and doing so slowly which is very rewarding!

This is the finished work:

Homemade Lipstick!!!!!

Made from what you ask? CRAYONS!!!!

Here are the supplies:

  • Crayons in your color of choice
  • Shea Butter
  • Coconut Oil
  • A Saucer Pan
  • A small glass dish
  • Stirrers of some kind
  • A portable container for your lipstick
  • Essential oils (optional)

Here’s a picture step-by-step instructions in picture form:

1: Put water in the pan, put small glass dish in the water. Heat it up on medium heat.

2: Using a stirrer, put a small amount of shea butter in the bowl.

3: Put a larger amount of coconut oil.

4: Melt both.

5: Pick your crayon of choice. For every half crayon added after this point add a little more coconut oil. (keeps it smooth)

6: Drop in your crayon piece:

When it melts, it’ll look like this:

7: Sometimes, its ok to try it at this point.

8: In this case, I didnt like it so……

So I added white (I also added more coconut oil)

For a perfect color:

Then when you are ready to pour it out, carefully take the bowl out of the water. Putting your desired case/holder on a paper towel for easy clean-up. And pour! This is the finished product.

Jack White writes open letter addressing leaked contract and tour rider

But I like Jack White’s music but then I’d also like to see him crochet for a living!

Consequence of Sound

Jack White has published an open letter addressing the recent leaking of his tour rider and the media’s coverage of it. As previously reported, prior to White’s recent show at the University of Oklahoma, the student newspaper published the rocker’s contract with the school, as well as his tour rider. The latter included a few eye-raising items, including a no-banana policy and a step-by-step recipe for guacamole. White addressed the newspaper during the concert, saying, “Just because you can type it on your computer doesn’t make it right.” Later, White’s booking agency WME reportedly told the university that it had been blacklisted from future concerts with WME artists.

In his open letter — titled “For god sakes. Are we all this bored?” — White chastised the media for its continued coverage of the story, which he described as nothing more than click-bait. He clarified that the guacamole recipe was his tour manager’s…
